Day 5: 15 Songs That Represent Your Life Soundtrack

9 12 2010

This is a very difficult day—

1. Baby Elephant Walk-Henry Mancini –I would like this song to play in my movie, while I’m walking down the street, excited after a great date or the beginning scene

2. I was able to Eat Well-Changmin Ft. Lee Hyun- after the second date goes sour, I listen to this song.

3. Beautiful-Beast-because I listen to this song at least 5 times a day

4. Don’t give me that look-Soul Track Mind- This song describes my dancing
5. Bartender-T-pain- no explanation needed
6. I’ll Be Home for Christmas- Bing Crosby- ’tis the season.
7. Handle With Care- Jenny Lewis and the Watson Twins (this seems slightly better then saying Jewel- I’m sensitive and I’d like to stay that way…am I right, mike fox?)
8. Wake me up before you go-go-Wham—the beat of this song is generally what I walk to, dance around my apartment to, make dinner to….everything, and seriously, wake me up…before you go? could there be a better message?

9. Dynamite-Taio Cruz- This was on the Soundtrack of our last vacation to Jejudo, and we requested it in every bar we were in, over and over again.
NB:This list is slowly turning into “songs that Margaret and Jessica can not listen to before going out….” so I will try to turn it around, sorry.
10. Moondance-VanMorrison This will be the first song at my wedding, get ready Korean boys, you better start practicing
11. Johnny and June-Angus and Julia Stone–for when I hate boys

12. Murder in the City-The Avett Brothers for when I miss my family “Always remember, there is nothing worth sharing
Like the love that let us share our name”
13.It’s all coming back to me now-Celine Dion- for that singing in the shower scene

14. Shake it-Metro City- When me and Evan dance in my basement, or on webcam…either one.
15. Moonriver-Henry Mancini- for the closing credits

This was a very difficult Post, and would be better if I had more than one day to think about the songs… but for now: this is my soundtrack

Day 2: A Photo of something you can’t live without

3 12 2010

When thinking about what I can’t live without many things ran through my head…. My family, my friends (both boring and cliche answers), beast, Justin Bieber, Wall-E…. and so I decided on what takes up at least half of my thoughts, half of my conversations, and 3/4 of my time in Korea…. the search for the perfect cup of coffee–something I really can’t live without.

A word to the wise for all of those coffee lovers that are planning or thinking about coming to Korea…. the coffee here sucks. I mean, we have starbucks, and coffee shops, but by and large, the coffee is horrible. Korea has yet to discover the “coffee maker” and chooses to drink “coffee mix” aka instant coffee with bunches of sugar that you put into hot water. It is far from a good cup of coffee. Upon getting off the plane, I think the only thing I pined for, and complained about to my boss was Korean coffee… fixed by him giving me my very own coffee maker, and my wonderful friends and family at home sending me coffee all of the time. I still have yet to find the perfect cup of coffee in a coffee shop here, but as far as coffee at home goes, it is fine.

And so, the thing I can’t live without: coffee, with a little milk, and a pack of splenda.
